Melissa Gorga wishes she could take back one thing from her early days on “The Real Housewives of New Jersey.” In an April 2025 interview with People magazine, the Bravo TV personality admitted she wishes she hadn’t listened to producers when they told her to “lean into the Jersey” culture of the show and wear large amounts of jewelry.
“Oh my God, take off, like three pieces of jewelry,” she said of her early RHONJ days. “I feel like my style is probably the least Jersey [inspired] of the crew.”
“In the beginning, I would listen, and I would add the bracelets and the necklaces,” Gorga told the outlet. “Then after a while, I was like, absolutely not. It’s not happening.”
Gorga joined the main cast of RHONJ in 2011 and has been a cast member every season since. The show is currently on pause.
Melissa Gorga Taught Fans How to Dress Like a Housewife
During her long reign on RHONJ, Gorga, 46, launched a line of jewelry on HSN. She went on to open her own clothing boutique, Envy. In a video interview with Page Six Style, she admitted she still likes “a little bling.”
“I do like a little sequins, I do like a little sparkle, but I always say at Envy we’re gonna dress you classy,” she shared.
When asked for advice on how to dress like a “Jersey girl,” Gorga replied, “I always say, and especially just being a Jersey girl, I say leopard and having a great leopard coat is always a staple. I have a super, super cute one here. I honestly do feel like having a little bit of leopard, snake print, and anything of that sort in your closet is a must-have.”
Melissa Gorga Has No Big Regrets From Her Time on the Show

While Gorga would take back some of her stacked jewelry moments, she doesn’t have a lot of other regrets from her 12 seasons on “The Real Housewives of New Jersey.”
In a 2024 interview with BravoTV.com, she reflected on her run on the show, which resulted in an ongoing estrangement from her sister-in-law, Teresa Giudice.
“I don’t know where the group goes from here, but I will just say that there’s been a lot of great memories with a lot of the girls,” she said amid the show’s hiatus. “I wouldn’t take anything back, but, at the end of the day, I fight for my family and my husband and my kids, and what’s morally right.”
