Monique Samuels Returns to RHOP in Friend Role?
A major cast shake-up is happening for “The Real Housewives of Potomac.” Previously, it was reported that Mia Thornton had moved to Atlanta, GA, and confirmed that she would not be returning for the upcoming season. Interestingly enough, a familiar face is returning.
People reports Monique Samuels will be returning for the upcoming season of RHOP in a friend role.
Production for the show is currently underway in Maryland, with last season’s stars, including Gizelle Bryant, Ashley Darby, Dr. Wendy Osefo, Keiarna Stewart, and Stacey Rusch, all filming again. Samuels will be joining the cast in a supporting capacity.
Monique is returning after a five-season hiatus. She left RHOP at the end of season five, following her now-infamous altercation with Candiace Dillard-Bassett and her impactful RHOP Reunion performance. Monique may have much to say regarding her newfound life as a divorcee. She and former NFL offensive lineman Chris Samuels divorced in September 2023 after a decade of marriage.
Monique’s in a totally different place now, and fans will see that,” a source tells PEOPLE. “She’s excited to show who she is now — not as a wife, not as just a mom, but as a woman starting over and taking on life on her own terms.
