Montreal Canadiens 2024-25 Schedule And Notable Games

The Montreal Canadiens have released their 2024-25 schedule, which is set to begin on October 9. As per usual, the Habs will open up the season against the Toronto Maple Leafs, however, for the first time in a very long time, they’re not opening the season on the road, as the Bell Centre will host the first Habs game of the year.

The 2024-25 season also features prominent Monday-night matchups, as Amazon Prime is attempting to launch ‘Monday Night Hockey’ during the one day per week that rarely involved a hockey game in previous years. For those of you who are looking to make the first day of the week even busier, the first of such matchups including the Canadiens will take place on October 14 against Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins.

In addition to the first Monday Night Hockey game of the schedule, the Canadiens will also feature in Monday night games on November 18 versus the Edmonton Oilers, December 9 against the Anaheim Ducks, January 6 against the Vancouver Canucks, and April 14 against the Chicago Blackhawks.

The schedule includes two games against the ‘new’ Utah franchise, with the Habs hosting them on November 26, before playing their first ever game in Utah on January 14.  Montreal will also face the reigning Stanley Cup champions, the Florida Panthers, on four occasions, starting with a home game on December 28, and concluding with a home-and-away series on March 30 and April 1.

Unfortunately, one of their longest standing rivalries will only involve three games, as the Canadiens and the Bruins will face each other in Boston on October 10 and December 1, before heading back to Montreal for their final matchup on April 3. And finally, the usual California and West Coast swings will take place during the second half of the season.
