'Mount Mahomes' Stopping Josh Allen's Bills From Super Bowl Glory

The Buffalo Bills are genuine Super Bowl contenders, but the shadow of a rival looms large.

The Buffalo Bills are perhaps in the best position that the franchise has been since the early 1990s to reach the Super Bowl.

A well-rounded roster led by Josh Allen, and in a weak division, the playoffs are a mere formality for Buffalo in 2025.

However, that isn't the goal. Right now, it's Super Bowl or bust.

Some are buying Bills stock in 2025, but others, like former NFL offensive lineman Damien Woody, who was on ESPN's GetUp and playing a game called "Believe it", aren't, due to one thing.

“I would not believe it,” Woody said. “Listen, you would think everything this year is set up for Buffalo, the fact that they travel the least among any team in the National Football League this year, I think their team, they're ready, they're there. But he hasn't been able to climb Mount Mahomes, so until I see it, what's Missouri, the show me state? Show me first before I believe in it.”

Woody isn't wrong.

Allen is 0-4 against Mahomes and the Chiefs in the playoffs, and there is a fair chance that Buffalo and Kansas City will meet in the postseason again.

Yes, we know the Bills are 4-0 in the regular season of late, but when it comes down to the wire and for all the marbles, Allen comes up short and sees his season end.

So yes, the Bills are contenders, but Woody isn't buying their 2025 stock until they can show they can ascend Mount Mahomes and emerge victorious.

Is this the year Buffalo and Allen finally slay the bogeyman?
