According to Keven Weekes, multiple teams are inquiring about both Vegas Golden Knights goaltenders.
Logan Thompson and Adin Hill have been splitting starts for the past two seasons and have been key contributors to the Golden Knights' success.
Hill has made the bulk of the starts in the playoffs but due to health reasons, Thompson has made more starts during the regular season. In the 2023-24 season, Thompson played in 46 games, posting a .908SV% and a 2.70GAA. Hill played in 11 fewer games and registered .909SV% and a 2.71GAA.
Weekes didn't specify which teams have called about the status of the Golden Knights goaltenders but the Los Angeles Kings and New Jersey Devils can be taken off the list due to the trades they recently made.
The Devils acquired Jacob Markstrom from the Calgary Flames and the Kings acquired Darcy Kuemper from the Washington Capitals in exchange for Pierre-Luc Dubois. m
Thompson is going into the final year of his contract at $766,667 and Hill is also on an expiring contract with an AAV of $4.9M. Hill is 28 years old and is a year older than Thompson.
Based on the Golden Knights' cap situation, the Golden Knights would move Hill to bolster their lineup. If the Golden Knights decided to keep the goaltender they've trusted more, they would move Thompson.
Thompson started the first four games of the first-round series against the Dallas Stars but was replaced by Hill for the final three elimination games. Hill was also the starter for nearly the entire 2022-23 Stanley Cup playoffs.
The decision the Golden Knights make will be an intriguing but a decisive one.
