NFL Insider: Trey Hendrickson 'A Lot More Easy' To Trade If Bengals Pick Edge Rusher in First Round

Cincinnati hasn't added much edge rushing talent recently.

CINCINNATI — Will the Bengals trade Trey Hendrickson if they draft an edge rusher on Thursday night? ESPN NFL insider Peter Schrager noted the possibility on The Pat McAfee Show this week.

Hendrickson and the Bengals have had no new update throughout the bulk of this month on his pending lame-duck season in Cincinnati.

"If they take Shemar Stewart, out of Texas A&M at 17," Schrager noted on the show as an example. "That suddenly makes Trey Hendrickson, a lot more easy to get rid of and say, "Okay well we can at least go to bed knowing we've got a guy that we just drafted, he's gonna make way less, that we have to the utmost thoughts for.'"

Cincinnati would still be in the same spot they are right now and arguably worse with a completely unproven pass rush. No rookie available at that pick will be able to replicate close to the 35 sacks from Hendrickson over the past two seasons.

The Hendrickson situation could hang in the air for awhile, whether Cincinnati goes edge rusher at Pick 17 or not.
