The NHL hosted its annual award show in Vegas Thursday night although with a few less trophies being handed out.

The league actually decided to reveal a majority of the award winners during the playoffs and saved just a few of the major awards for the special show.

We know that Jaccob Slavin won the Lady Byng again and that Jordan Staal finished second in Selke voting, but what about the rest?

Calder (Connor Bedard)

Goaltender Pyotr Kochetkov finished fourth in Calder voting for Rookie of the Year.

Kochetkov was just on the outside of being a finalist, with 281 less points than third place Luke Hughes.

Kochetkov however did make the NHL's All-Rookie Team with a near unanimous vote.

Norris (Quinn Hughes)

While the Canes' bread and butter is their defense, they don't really have that top-end, Norris-level player.

Instead, it's a by committee approach with six really good blueliners versus one uber elite.

How

Hart (Nathan MacKinnon)

Sebastian Aho finished tied for 12th in Hart voting, for league MVP, with a single fifth-place vote.

The Hurricanes' franchise cornerstone had a career year with 36 goals and 89 points alongside a strong two-way game.

Vezina (Connor Hellebuyck)

No Hurricanes goalie received votes for the Vezina.

Not that they should have, but just in general the fact that NHL GMs vote on this award is weird to me.

Selke (Aleksander Barkov)

Jordan Staal finished as a distant second to Aleksander Barkov, but it was still the highest he's ever placed for the award which recognizes the league's top defensive forward.

Staal had the best possession numbers of his career this year and continued to be a valuable piece of Carolina's roster.

Seth Jarvis, Sebastian Aho and Jordan Martinook all also received votes.

Lady Byng (Jaccob Slavin)

Slavin won the Lady Byng this year as the league's top high-end, gentlemanly player for the second time but a few other Canes also got votes including Teuvo Teravainen, Seth Jarvis, Jake Guentzel, Sebastian Aho, Brent Burns and Jordan Staal.

Jack Adams (Rick Tocchet)

Rod Brind'Amour, who won the Jack Adams in 2021 as the league's best coach, finished in eighth this year.

He received four first place votes in total.

The award is voted on by the league's broadcasters.

Masterton (Connor Ingram)

Frederik Andersen was a finalist for the Masterton, which honors perseverance and dedication to the game of hockey, after overcoming blood clotting issues discovered in the middle of the season and returning to play.
