Nikki Bella is not shying away from being open and honest about the potential pitfalls of wrestling. On the August 1 episode of her podcast “The Nikki & Brie Show,” the athlete said her latest showdown on “Monday Night Raw,” in which she battled Piper Niven, was fun but “painful.”
The 41-year-old competed on season 25 of “Dancing With the Stars,” which aired in 2017, and was eliminated in week 7. She famously married her dance partner, Artem Chigvintsev, four years later, but the pair split in 2024, according to People.
Brie said she loved watching her twin sister on the show, and recalled thinking Nikki was “having so much fun.” Nikki agreed, “I was so excited when I found out we were doing it,” before saying, “I didn’t want the match to end. I was in a little bit of pain, but I didn’t want it to end.” Brie replied, “How’s your implant? I think it’s stuck in your ribs!” Read on for Nikki’s explanation of the wild injury.
Nikki Bella said her implant injury sent her seeking medical help. Nikki told her sister on the podcast that she thinks her implant is stuck. “I had to go to the doctor yesterday. I’m thinking in my head, ‘I didn’t think I’d be here today, on my day of in New York City, getting my boobs looked at, knowing that my implant, I think has moved,” she laughed.
The WWE star went on, “I’m like, alright. It has. It has moved.” She said she sustained the damage from Piper Niven’s elbow drop, before detailing some of the troubles she’s suffered as a result. “It’s been hard to laugh, and cough.” Looking to the positive, she declared, “It’s okay! We’re gonna get it fixed. One day. I told the doctor, I go, ‘Newly divorced. So the minute the boots are hung up, I’m coming back to you and we’re gonna make these girls look real good. Cause these girls are gonna get some action in the future.’ Not that bad of a difference. They still look hot!” she said.
Although Nikki said the breast implant dislocation was painful, it was nowhere near her most serious accident. In 2015, the star suffered severe damage to her neck that could have ended her career.
Her courageous comeback journey was documented by WWE. “I am getting neck surgery this morning. I’m getting bone fusion for my C6/C7,” she said in a feature. The pro, who was dating John Cena at the time, went on to explain, “I kinda have a rare injury because my disc has gone behind my vertebrate.” See the surgery details in the video below.
