The Carolina Panthers are reportedly making another change behind the scenes.
According to Joe Person of The Athletic, the organization has parted ways with head strength and conditioning coach Jeremy Scott. They also, per Person, plan to hire Minnesota Vikings director of performance Josh Hingst in the same role.
Hingst has spent the last four seasons with the Vikings. Prior to his stint in Minnesota, he worked as the head strength and conditioning coach for the Philadelphia Eagles from 2013 to 2020—including their Super Bowl-winning campaign in 2017.
The Hooper, Neb. native has also served as the assistant strength and conditioning coach at Florida State University (2004 to 2008), the team nutritionist for the Atlanta Falcons (2008 to 2009), the director of sports nutrition at the University of Lincoln-Nebraska (2009 to 2011) and the assistant strength coach for the Jacksonville Jaguars (2011 to 2012).
2025 will mark Hingst’s 17th NFL season.
Carolina, in addition to Hingst, is also hiring Buffalo Bills associate athletic trainer Denny Kellington as their vice president of player health and performance. Kellington is credited with helping save the life of safety Damar Hamlin in January of 2023.
