Panthers re-sign important piece to maintain offensive continuity

Tommy Tremble was expected to test the open market next week but returns with a two-year deal, per reports. The third-round selection for the Panthers in the 2021 NFL Draft had his rookie contract expiring.

The 24-year-old tight end caught 23 passes for 234 yards and two touchdown passes last year. Tremble is also great in run blocker and has shown improvement over the past few years.

Panthers coach Dave Canales expressed how important Tremble and fellow tight end Ja'Tavion Sanders were to their overall scheme.

"You want continuity, and so you talk about a guy like Tommy Tremble," Canales said. "We're going through all of our film, and he he does such a great job." He went on to say, "But for me, it's like, OK, we have these guys that we've trained, and you'd love to have them back."

The Panthers also resigned offensive lineman Austin Corbett on Saturday night. He inks a one-year deal to stay in Carolina.
