Outgoing Chicago Cubs slugger Patrick Wisdom, who’s been blowing the ball up in Mexico, has found his job for the 2025 season, and it’s going to take him across the ocean.
Wisdom, 33, is off to get paid and hit a whole lot of dingers in the KBO:
That picture there is obviously not Wisdom, but the news stands.
From 2021 to 2023, Wisdom hit .214/.298/.473/111 wRC+ with the Cubs, including 76 home runs. He fell way off this past season for a variety of reasons, and the Cubs non-tendered him last month. My gut says that Wisdom could’ve found a bench job with an MLB for the upcoming season, but he may have had to take a minor league deal to make it happen. I expect he’ll be making more money in the KBO, and he might have a chance to put up a huge season.
All the best to him. Patrick Wisdom was a great story as a late break-out, and made for some memorable moments with the Cubs, including a Cubs rookie record 28 home runs in 2021.
