The Bold and the Beautiful's Hope Logan just wants to be happy, but happiness always seems to elude her. She's entered failed relationship after failed relationship and thought she had finally found the one with Carter Walton.

Her heartbreak over what she perceived as Carter's portrayal was palpable. This past week, we saw Hope take a journey of discovery and realization. Thanks to Annika Noelle's superb performance, we could read every thought, making her Soap Central's Performer of the Week.

Hope's mea culpa on The Bold and the Beautiful

We began with Hope telling Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) that she finally understands that stealing Forrester Creations from the Forresters was wrong. Noelle knew how hard it was for her character to say these words, so she made sure that Hope didn't even look her mother in her eyes as she admitted to wrongdoing. As Hope told Brooke that she would support her quest to once again win back Ridge (Thorsten Kaye), we could hear the reluctance in her voice, but she wasn't about to make waves with her mother again.

Once Hope was able to freely admit that she had been wrong, Noelle also showed us that Hope had been freed. When she learned Liam (Scott Clifton) was staying at Steffy's (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) place, she didn't even hesitate when she said she'd head over. It was like watching a new Hope, who didn't care that she would have to be in Steffy's territory.

A new-old Hope

Maybe our new Hope was like our old Hope — the one who knew Liam better than anyone. Noelle immediately reminded us of the connection she and Liam shared when she asked Liam to spill why he was really living with Steffy. Liam refused to tell the truth and only wanted to talk about Hope.

Noelle didn't have to say much as Liam extolled the virtues of being with Carter (Lawrence Saint-Victor). Hope took every word Liam said to heart, and we knew what she was thinking without a word of dialogue. By the time she got home, anticipating Carter's visit, we knew Hope's week-long journey was complete. She admitted the error of her ways and was ready to move on — and be happy — but she still has no idea what is to come.
