Following the 2025 NFL draft the New York Jets' offensive line has been the talk for many.
That makes plenty of sense. Offensive lineman Armand Membou came to New York via the No. 7 overall pick.
However, Pro Football Focus has since highlighted another Jets offensive lineman. The football analytics outlet named every NFL team's "breakout candidate" following the draft and the selection for the Jets was Olu Fashanu not Membou.
Membou's addition should help across the board for New York's offensive line. On paper, the O-line is now complete as Membou will be at right tackle with Fashanu on the left side.
The 2024 first-round rookie for the Jets did not have the best start in New York. That's mostly because he was not starting as the team wanted to bring him along slowly behind veterans.
Once Fashanu got in the lineup, he did impress, including five-straight starts in the second half of the season.
During that spell, Fashanu earned his best PFF grade of the season in Week 10 against the Arizona Cardinals, a 75.7 overall. In addition, the outlet's metrics did not grade him lower than a 63.3 mark following that Cardinals outing.
That late-season consistency will provide plenty of optimism.
PFF's full breakdown on Fashanu can be found below:
The 11th overall pick in 2024 became a consistent full-time starter at left tackle in Week 11 of his rookie year after moving around the offensive line prior to that. He was set to continue in that role until he suffered an injury in Week 16. During that stretch, Fashanu earned a 75.0 pass-blocking grade, the best mark on the team. Fashanu received some help on the other side with the team drafting Armand Membou seventh overall to play right tackle, helping Fashanu stay locked into the left side where he was most effective last season.
