The two-time Pro Bowler reveals who he wants as the next head coach of the Jets.

Following the Jets' 5-12 disappointment of a season, the team is looking to fill its head coach and general manager vacancies. The team has interviewed a number of candidates for each position. One Jets player has announced his choice for the coaching position.

Jets make the right pick with Alabama star DT Quinnen Williams – New York Daily News

All-Pro defensive lineman Quinnen Williams took to Instagram to express his desire for Detroit Lions' defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn.

The Jets posted on Instagram, announcing they have interviewed the standout coordinator, with Williams commenting a pair of fingers crossed emojis.

Quinnen Williams

Glenn is a former Jet himself, earning two of his three Pro Bowl selections with the franchise as a defensive back. He's spent the last four seasons as the defensive coordinator of the Lions. This season, the Lions' defense is fifth in rushing yards and second in passing touchdowns.

While there is no clear link between Williams and Glenn, Glenn does have a reputation for being a player-friendly coach. Glenn also has earned a reputation as being a leader, which many would argue would be a welcome change in the Jets' locker room.

It also makes sense for Williams, a premiere defensive player, to welcome a defensive-minded coach. It does seem as though the Jets are valuing previous experience in their search, which would not favor Glenn, but you never truly know with the Jets.

Williams has been with the Jets for six seasons, being selected with the third overall pick by the team in 2019. In that time, he's played in 90 games, racking up 290 tackles, 52 tackles for loss, and 39 sacks. Williams has 14 pass deflections and an interception as well.
