The doom and gloom naysayers will undoubtedly focus on the fact that Quinnen Williams had quite the freefall on the NFL top 100 players list as he fell from number fifty to 87th, but cracking the top 100 is no easy task.
Just do the math, folks. We’re talking 32 teams who carry at least 53 players at a time, meaning Williams is in the top 100 out of 1,696 players.
And of course the NFL top 100 isn’t a popularity contest that’s selected by the fans, but one that is voted on by NFL players.
Williams’ play did slip slightly in 2024, but that can be said for plenty of players on the Jets defense that noticeably faltered following the surprise firing of head coach Robert Saleh.
With a new head coach on board who brings with him a great deal of credibility as a former player himself, and an aggressive, attacking style defense, could Williams climb back in to the top fifty next season?
That’s impossible to say right now, but we like his chances.
