Rachel Zoe On Joining ‘RHOBH’: ‘I Have a Really Strong Message to Share’

Rachel Zoe is opening up about what motivated her to join the cast of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” for its upcoming season 15. “I think I have a really strong message to share now … that’s really why I wanted to do the show,” Zoe told People.

In September of 2024 Zoe and her husband of 26 years, Rodger Berman, announced their split. While married, the couple welcomed two children, Skyler, 13, and Kaius, 10. Zoe’s return to reality TV is due in part to the changes in her personal life.

“Publicly, as we know, my life has shifted in many ways personally and professionally,” the stylist shared. “I felt like it was the time now to sit with an amazing group of women and really talk about my new life and what that looks like.”

Zoe’s Relatability Factor

Fans of Zoe know that she is already a part of the Bravo extended family. “The Rachel Zoe Project,” a reality series that followed the drama of her high-stakes celebrity stylist job, aired on the network from 2008 until 2013.

While her glam gigs and celebrity clientele were more aspirational than relatable, Zoe feels that her personal story has resonated with many. “I know that sounds silly, because I know I’m a fashion person … but I go through very real, very relatable things and emotions,” she explained.

Zoe also shared that she thinks being a part of “RHOBH” will allow viewers to get to know her on a different level. “I live my life in a very normal, relatable way … I think that to sit with women and talk about that, for me, is a great way to sort of share what I’m living through,” she said.

A Reality TV Vet

Although “RHOBH” and “The Rachel Zoe Project” are very different shows, Zoe is an old pro when it comes to filming. “It’s very organic,” she explained. “For me, when cameras roll, I don’t feel them, I don’t see them, and I pretend they’re not there.”

For fans who loved the fashion element of her other reality show, the good news is Zoe’s approach to her wardrobe hasn’t changed. “To be honest, on [‘The Rachel Zoe Project’], I just sort of got dressed in real time every day,” she said, adding that for “RHOBH” she’s been “winging it.’

“I’ve gone into my archives and pulled some things I’ll probably wear for filming, but I honestly wish I could say that it was planned and calculated,” Zoe shared. Which means she will be looking as fab as always.
