The Las Vegas Raiders had one of the worst offenses in the NFL last season, averaging just 18.2 points per game in 2024. The major problem was poor quarterback play, but a lack of offensive weapons, specifically at wide receiver, hurt the team as well.
This offseason, new general manager John Spytek and head coach Pete Carroll looked to remedy this by selecting a trio of wide receivers in the 2025 NFL Draft and adding a handful of low-dollar veterans to compete with them.
To continue bolstering the room, Las Vegas also signed former UFL standout wide receiver Seth Williams on Tuesday, just ahead of training camp.
Williams spent last season playing for the DC Defenders in the UFL, where he collected 11 catches for 170 yards and two touchdowns in just four games. This included three catches for 107 yards and a touchdown in the postseason.
Before his brief stint in the UFL, Williams also made stops with the Dallas Cowboys and Jacksonville Jaguars as a member of the offseason roster. He also played in two games for the Denver Broncos during the 2021 NFL regular season.
At 6-foot-3 and 211 pounds, Williams should be able to compete for at least a spot on the Raiders' practice squad in 2025. He'll have an uphill battle against rookies like Jack Bech and Dont'e Thornton Jr., but Pete Carroll will give him a fair chance to make the team.
Veterans like Kyle Philips, Collin Johnson and Alex Bachman are all in the mix for a roster spot as well in Las Vegas.
