‘Raising Kanan’s Hailey Kilgore & ‘Harlem’s Juani Feliz Among 4 Cast As Series Regulars In ‘9-1-1

ABC and 20th Television’s upcoming series 9-1-1: Nashville has added four to its series regular cast, including Hailey Kilgore (Power Book III: Raising Kanan), Michael Provost (The Holdovers), Juani Feliz (Harlem), and Hunter McVey, sources reveal to Deadline. They join Chris O’Donnell, Jessica Capshaw, LeAnn Rimes, and Kimberly Williams-Paisley, who were previously announced.

ABC and 20th Television declined to comment on the castings.

9-1-1: Nashville is described as a high-octane procedural about our heroic first responders, as well as their family saga of power and glamour set in one of America’s most diverse and dynamic cities.

The project received a straight-to-series order from the network in February. The new offshoot joins the mothership series 9-1-1 on ABC, where it moved in 2023 following its cancellation at Fox. The second series from the franchise, 9-1-1: Lone Star, was canceled after five seasons in 2023 and completed its run early this year.

Kilgore will play Taylor, a firefighter and incredible singer.
Provost will play Ryan, a modern-day cowboy and firefighter.
Feliz stars will play Roxie, an adrenaline junkie and former trauma surgeon.
McVey will play Blue, a haunted bad boy, now a firefighter.

Kilgore and Rimes have successful musical careers in addition to their acting work. With Nashville setting up the perfect backdrop for music to take center stage, it is not without notice that they’re hiring actors who are also talented singers. Williams-Paisley, while not a professional singer, has performed in other projects, like on ABC’s According to Jim, where she sang “Amazing Grace.” It also goes without saying, she’s married to country legend Brad Paisley, who can hopefully be convinced to pop in for a special episode. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves, we don’t want to start any rumors.

20th Television, in association with Ryan Murphy Television, will produce the series. Murphy, Tim Minear, and Rashad Raisani will serve as executive producers and writers, with Chris O’Donnell, Brad Buecker, Brad Falchuk, and Angela Bassett also executive producing. Raisani serves as showrunner.

Kilgore joins the show following Starz’s Power Book III: Raising Kanan, which has already shot its fifth and final season but has yet to air. She plays the fan-favorite role of Jukebox, a talented singer caught up in the criminal underworld of New York’s Southside through the family business, which she rarely gets involved with. The Tony and Grammy-nominated actress, singer, and dancer has credits in major films, including RESPECT alongside Jennifer Hudson and the feature Cinnamon, in the lead role. As a singer, she will release her debut album later this year. She is repped by IAG, Circle Management + Production & Jackoway Austen Tyerman.

Provost’s recent credits include Kevin Costner’s An American Saga – Chapter 2, and Alexander Payne’s The Holdovers. He is repped by Gersh, Link Entertainment, and Myman Greenspan Fox.

Feliz was recently cast as the co-lead of CBS’ spinoff of The Equalizer opposite Titus Welliver. She can be seen in Tracy Oliver’s Amazon television series Harlem, the Emmy-nominated FX limited series Fleishman Is In Trouble, and the Ava DuVernay miniseries DMZ for HBO Max. Additional TV credits include The Rookie: Feds and The Good Doctor for ABC, Blue Bloods and NCIS: Hawaii for CBS, and Starz’s Power. On the film side, her credits include Alex Garland’s A24 feature Civil War and Ross Partridge’s indie feature Birthrite. She will next be seen in AMC’s The Terror: Devil in Silver, directed by Karyn Kusama. She is repped by Buchwald and Brookside Artist Management.

McVey will be making his professional acting debut in 9-1-1: Nashville. He is repped by The Block Agency.
