During a February 2025 interview with In Touch Weekly, Minkoff spoke about leaving RHONY following her one season as a “friend of.” She said despite her Bravo exit, she does not intend to step away from reality television forever. She said she would like to work on something “very much lifestyle based” that also focuses on “supporting women.”

“I’ve had several ideas that I think, maybe now, people are ready for. I am in conversations with a couple of production companies. But these things take years to bring to life. And I’m not rushing into it. I’m not, like, anxiously trying to get anywhere,” said Minkoff to the publication.

She also said she “think[s] it could be really fun if it happens.”

Rebecca Minkoff Shared Why She Left RHONY

While speaking to In Touch Weekly, Minkoff shared some reasons that she did not continue filming for RHONY. She said she believed Bravo viewers did not get a full picture of her personality.

“I think that the way in which I was portrayed is not who I am. It’s not who you see on Instagram or my podcast or if you see me speak or my book, that is not me, and that was really disappointing,” said Minkoff to the publication.

Minkoff said she also wanted to shift her focus to more “positive” endeavors like assisting the Female Founder collective and the Los Angeles Fire Department. She explained that she “want[s] to chase the good feelings and the good energy, and really make [her] life around that.”

“I wanted to chase a feeling of positivity,” said Minkoff during the interview.

In early February 2025, Minkoff revealed she was stepping away from RHONY in an Instagram post. She said because of the “current events in the world,” she wanted to focus on her “family, friends and community now more than ever.”

“I want to reprioritize the things that mean the most to me: designing, giving back, supporting women and raising my family. I am truly grateful for the experience, the friendships and the fans that have been part of this RHONY chapter. Time to turn the page,” wrote Minkoff in her Instagram post.

During a December 2024 appearance on Tamra Judge and Teddi Mellencamp‘s podcast, “Two Ts In A Pod,” Minkoff shared what she regretted about her time on RHONY.

“I would have been more vocal at times. And stated opinions more strongly, in the moment. Again, I want to support women, I want to see them do well, so unless I have real beef with someone, I wasn’t just going to throw shade just to throw shade,” said Minkoff during the interview.
