Teresa Giudice is looking down the barrel of the United States Government’s metaphorical gun again. She and her current husband, Luis Ruelas, have a $3 million tax lien against them, and it doesn’t look good. The Real Housewives star is acting like an ostrich and putting her head in the sand. But the problems, like before, won’t just go away.
Hollywood Demons revealed RHONJ’s Teresa Giudice has a history of lying to the government
Max’s Hollywood Demons is shedding new light on Tre’s relationship with the truth. For years, Tre has shouted her narrative from every rooftop as she blamed Caroline Manzo for being an FBI rat. Along the way, she also faulted her brother and Joe Giudice’s former business partner for the IRS case brought against her. But the new series is revealing that Teresa only has herself to blame. Now, a former IRS director is setting the record straight, and odds are high the mother of four won’t be thrilled.
So what caught the eye of the tax agency? It was during Season 1 of the Real Housewives of New Jersey when Teresa opted to spend $120,000 in cash on her ostentatious furniture. Jonathan Larsen said, “In 2012, one of the case agents of IRS Criminal Investigation happened to be watching The Real Housewives of New Jersey, and it shows a significant amount of cash that was being expended by Teresa. So we started to peel back the layers.” The field agent added, “We identified one loan application way before the TV show. She supplied pay stubs. That job did not exist. She had applied for another mortgage, and this time she claimed she was a realtor making $15,000 a month, and when in fact it was totally fabricated.”
Why did RHONJ’s Teresa and Joe Giudice go to jail?
It turns out Joe and Tre also lied when they filed for bankruptcy. “After the first season here in New Jersey, Teresa and Joe filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy, but they claimed that they were earning less than what they actually were,” he disclosed. “In addition, Joe and Teresa had not filed a tax return for at least eight years, from 2000 to 2008.” The new documentary is shedding light on Tre’s involvement and might prove that she wasn’t as innocent as she made it out to be.
Teresa and Joe pleaded guilty to bank, wire, and bankruptcy fraud in 2014, and both were sentenced to prison. The RHONJ OG was sentenced to 15 months, while Joe received a 41-month sentence. Fans will recall that both were convicted of submitting fraudulent loan applications, lying about their employment and salary, concealing assets, and other financial offenses. Teresa was released in under a year and refused to admit she had been sent to jail for years after that. She kept to her story of blaming Joe, and eventually, after his deportation, she filed for divorce, once again accusing him of the failed marriage.
Joe Giudice denied claims made on Hollywood Demons about Real Housewives star Teresa Giudice
Joe, who is currently living and working in the Bahamas, had a few thoughts about the Hollywood Demons’ claims. The father of four took to social media to not take responsibility but rather claim he was a target of the U.S. Government. According to Joe, the feds just wanted a big case, and he “never thought” he’d do any time. Joe claimed he was “working hard and doing his thing.” Though most would argue that he and Tre would have known they would have been expected to pay taxes. And even though the documentary denied it, Joe still believes his “ex-partner ratted me out.”
Joe also posted a throwback photo of Tre and the girls during a baptism. In the caption, Joe wrote, “This was a special day celebrating Gia’s baptism with the family. Moments like these are what life is all about. So grateful for these memories.” Sadly, it still feels like Joe and Teresa will go to their graves believing that they had done nothing wrong. But every American knows there are two things guaranteed in life: death and taxes.
