Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Teddi Mellencamp shared an update on her cancer treatment with fans.
"Essentially, what we figured out with me was, yes, I started out feeling great, and I could do all the pods and I could do all these things, and I could go to all my daughter’s horse shows and I could stay at my house by myself, and I felt really strong,” Mellencamp, 44, explained on the July 23 episode of the Two Ts in a Pod podcast.
Mellencamp was diagnosed with melanoma in 2022. After undergoing a variety of surgeries and other treatments (including chemotherapy), the mom of three learned that her cancer had spread to other parts of her body, including her brain.
She's been doing immunotherapy for a while now, but it's starting to take a toll on her body.
"And what’s happening with me is the longer that I’m on immunotherapy, the sicker it’s making me," she continued, adding that the treatment has started to hit her "so incredibly hard."
Mellencamp's oncology team has made the decision to pause her immunotherapy treatments for the time being.
"We’re going to take a little break on the immunotherapy to get my body back feeling stronger. And I’m on steroids and we’re doing everything that we can to get me back to feeling like I, you know, I can do this, I can do all the things," she said.
In another podcast clip shared on Instagram, Mellencamp talked about the toll the disease has taken on her body. She explained that some days she feels great and other days she doesn't.
Dozens of fans have left well wishes in the comments section of the post, many letting Mellencamp know that they are praying for her.
