Rebecca Minkoff shaded Brynn Whitfield’s “JV” behavior on Real Housewives of New York, addressed if she’d return next season, and revealed why she wasn’t made a full-time castmate.
Throughout the season, the clothing brand owner got along with everyone except Brynn, who dissed her business and argued with her on several occasions. Some fans claimed Rebecca played it too safe and should’ve fought back.
On her Instagram Stories, Rebecca responded to a fan claiming she handled Brynn’s actions in a “cool” and “chill” way.
“I have experienced so much hardship and stress and REAL problems in building a brand the last 20 years, that JV stuff didn’t phase me,” said Rebecca, via @queensofbravoplus on Instagram. “It’s all perspective.”
Another fan asked if she’d sign on for another season.
“We will see, lots of things to consider,” she said. “But dressing up was super fun.”
In an interview on Two Ts In A Pod, Rebecca addressed if she would return as a full-time castmate.
“I guess TBD. My husband is a little bit on the fence about that. Which is why I wasn’t a full time [castmate] to begin with. We do have young kids. So I think he and I have just been weighing if there is a round two, what does it look like?” she answered, via entertainmentnow.com.
The star then hinted at any regrets.
“I would have been more vocal at times. And stated opinions more strongly, in the moment. Again, I want to support women, I want to see them do well, so unless I have real beef with someone, I wasn’t just going to throw shade just to throw shade,” she shared.
Back in October, Rebecca told Style Caster that she joined the show so fans of her clothing brand could better understand her personality.
“I looked at how [the brand] has been in touch with our customer from the beginning—I realized these people have grown up with me. So I thought, if I can show [them] another dimension of myself as an entertainer, a prankster, a girl’s girl—that just establishes more closeness to my customer,” she said at the time. “Hopefully, if I’m edited correctly, you’ll see that I’m a peacemaker and the one who’s constantly trying to get us to get along.”
