Rebecca Minoff Says Jenna Lyons Turned Down Her Suggestion To “Fake Fight” Over Fashion In ‘RHONY’ Season 15

Having two different fashion powerhouses in a reality show provides a lot of leeway for drama and competition. But for Real Housewives of New York City stars Jenna Lyons and Rebecca Minkoff, there was nothing but camaraderie.

Rebecca Minoff Says Jenna Lyons Turned Down Her Suggestion To “Fake Fight” Over Fashion In 'RHONY' Season 15 | Decider

Minkoff, who is the latest addition to the rebooted Bravo series, recently sat down with DECIDER to talk about the upcoming 15th season — and her dynamic with Lyons.

“We just had a lot of fun together,” Minkoff gushed. “And she’s been so supportive. And obviously, you know, Racquel [Chevremont] and I were the newbies, so [Lyons] really held my hand through a lot of stuff to just understand how it all works.”

Minkoff founded her multi-million dollar fashion brand nearly 20 years ago, while Lyons is the former executive creative director and president of J.Crew.

When Lyons joined the rebooted version of The Real Housewives of New York City in Season 14, her fashion was always a hot topic — and understandably so. I mean, who could forget when Brynn Whitfield and Erin Lichy raided her closet immediately after making up from a fight? Or when Jessel Taank relentlessly complained about a dress Lyons gifted her because she thought it made her look like a Christmas tree?

Minkoff, for her part, had her own ideas as to how she and Lyons could’ve used their fashion backgrounds to spice up the show.

“I kept joking with her. I was like, ‘We should do fake fighting over, like, who’s more stylish,'” Minkoff recalled. “And she was like, ‘We’re good.’ And I was like, ‘But it’d be so funny if we did that!'”

While viewers probably won’t see any feuding between the fashionistas, the trailer promises plenty of drama to come among the other ladies. We’ll just have to stay tuned!

The Real Housewives of New York City Season 15 premieres on Tuesday, Oct. 1 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
