It now has the 22-year-old infielder/outfielder No. 2 on its 2025 Top 10 Red Sox prospect list, which it released Monday.
Campbell, a 2023 fourth round pick, enjoyed a breakout season and turned Boston’s Big Three (prospects) into a Big Four.
He led all Red Sox minor leaguers with 55 extra-base hits (20 homers, 32 doubles and three triples). He batted .330 with a .439 on-base percentage, .558 slugging percentage and .997 OPS in 115 games (517 plate appearances) between High-A Greenville (40 games), Double-A Portland (56 games) and Triple-A Worcester (19 games).
Campbell is ranked behind only outfielder Roman Anthony, the game’s No. 1 overall prospect. He is ranked ahead of the other two members of the Big Four: shortstop Marcelo Mayer (No. 3) and catcher Kyle Teel (No. 4).
Baseball America rounded out its Top 10 Red Sox rankings with shortstop Franklin Arias (No. 5), outfielder Braden Montgomery (No. 6), pitcher Luis Perales (No. 7), infielder Chase Meidroth (No. 8), shortstop Yoeilin Cespedes (No. 9) and pitcher David Sandlin (No. 10).
Boston selected Montgomery 12th overall in the 2024 MLB Draft. In addition to his raw power, he has the best outfield arm in Boston’s minor league system, according to BA.
Perales, a hard-throwing 21-year-old righty, remains a Top 10 prospect despite undergoing Tommy John surgery in June.
Sandlin was acquired from the Royals for reliever John Schreiber last spring training. The 23-year-old reached 100.4 mph with his fastball this past season.
