The booms of thunder and rain pouring down on Atlanta as the ‘Wives arrived at the studio for Season 16’s Real Housewives of Atlanta reunion was an ominous omen, but in a previously unseen moment (that's now viewable on Peacock's extended and uncensored version of Part 1), filming actually kicked off with a wholesome moment.
“Can we start with a prayer?” Shamea Morton Mwangi asked.
From there, host Andy Cohen and the RHOA ladies — Shamea, Angela Oakley, Drew Sidora, Kelli Ferrell, Phaedra Parks, and Porsha Williams — joined hands. “Heavenly father, we come to you right now with humble hearts and open hearts," Shamea began. "We ask that you give us grace and mercy."
"Center us all in love and peace. Don’t let us go dark," she continued. "Let us all lead with understanding. You have protected us and covered us thus far."
"Thank you for even loving on the ones that we lost, God," Shamea added before acknowledging Porsha's late cousin, Yolanda "Londie" Favors, as well as Angela's late mother. "We want to continue to carry the legacy for Londie and for Angela's mom. We thank you for all of your blessings in advance. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen."
