Do you remember when Kathryn Edwards was on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills? Probably not. She came in during Season 6 along with Erika Jayne, but she failed to make a splash. She got the boot after just one season.
Meanwhile, her fellow newbie went on to become one of the longest-running RHOBH cast members. With nine seasons and counting, Erika is tied with Lisa Vanderpump as the second most tenured Housewife if you can believe it.
Although Kathryn’s reality TV career didn’t quite pan out the same way as Erika’s, she doesn’t have any hard feelings. In a new interview, Kathryn praised the Pretty Mess for how she’s navigated her time in RHOBH.
Kathryn recently sat down on the Beyond The Velvet Rope with David Yontef podcast, where she dished on Season 14 of RHOBH, the martial troubles throughout the cast, and all of the juicy drama that’s been unfolding each week. When they started talking about Erika, Kathryn had nothing but positive things to say.
“She’s brought it,” Kathryn said of Erika’s nine-year run. “She’s given, she’s delivered every season.”
Kathryn continued, “She’s been really a Housewife. She’s, I mean, even though she’s not a Housewife she’s given the franchise what they want. And I think hats off to her for that.”
Of course, Kathryn wasn’t always an Erika fan. When they were on the show together, the two butt heads when Kathryn told LVP about some shady things Erika had been saying. These days, that’s water under a bridge.
According to Kathryn, her opinion of Erika started to change after she watched her get wrapped up in the downfall of Tom Girardi. She said the crisis made Erika seem “human.” Now that she doesn’t have all of that money to hide behind, Kathryn thinks we’re finally seeing the real Erika.
“Honestly, I mean, I think that that’s what makes her human,” Kathryn said of Erika’s new disposition.
“Because everyone can see all the flaws for God’s sake, we can see, like, everything that’s wrong with her,” she continued. “But when she at least acknowledges that those are the things that screwed up her life and maybe weren’t her best choices and etcetera etcetera, good for her. Maybe there’s some growth there.”
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills airs new episodes on Tuesdays at 8/7c on Bravo.
