Emily Simpson and her husband, Shane Simpson, have always been very open about issues in their relationship. Including addressing rumors about the state of their marriage.

During Season 18, Episode 3 of Real Housewives of Orange County, Shane addressed concerns about his wife’s “obsession” with her health and the amount of time she spends at the gym working out. Following her significant weight loss, Emily worries about backsliding, so she tends to push herself.
But one thing she’s not backsliding on is her relationship with her husband of 15 years. When a source recently posted “breaking news” that she and Shane were “officially divorcing,” Emily vehemently denied the story.
He’s “never getting rid of me”
“We’re not getting divorced!” Emily responded. “Shane is never getting rid of me!”
She also warned her followers not to believe stories about the couple splitting up, calling the rumors “BS clickbait.”
Though there’s been no talk of divorce, Shane does worry sometimes that “Emily takes it too far” with her gym routine. “I think Emily’s pathway to being healthy is terrific,” he explained. “I’m very proud of her … But I do think she takes it a little too far, to the point where she disappoints herself when she can’t make it to the gym one day.”
But the RHOC star has concerns about her husband’s health, too, especially since he drinks soda all day. “My kids see me go to the gym every day … I think kids seeing that I have an active lifestyle is a good thing,” she said. “It counterbalances Shane walking around with his Big Gulps all the time.”
The beginning was rough
When Emily and Shane first joined RHOC in Season 13, they had a tough time adjusting to being on camera together. At times, Shane would want to consider both sides of the story when it came to cast drama, but Emily interpreted his open-mindedness as a betrayal.
“You’d get mad with anything I said,” Shane recalled. “So that made it hard to film.”
But these days, Emily has a more relaxed attitude when it comes to Shane. “I [just] let him be him, now,” she explained.
In fact, Emily feels that being on the show has benefitted their relationship. “I feel like Shane and I have grown as a couple, and I think the show has a lot to do with that.”
