Gia Giudice’s new podcast will explore some uncomfortable truths about her past family drama on The Real Housewives of New Jersey. On the premiere episode of Casual Chaos, Gia discussed her parents’ legal issues. Both Teresa Giudice and Joe Giudice spent time in jail for bankruptcy fraud when their four daughters were younger.
At the time, Gia stepped up as a big sister to her three siblings. She continued in that role to her mother when Joe was deported back to his native Italy. The two also leaned on each other amidst the ongoing feud between Teresa and Joe Gorga and Melissa Gorga.
Gia Giudice used her podcast premiere to discuss “dark cloud” of family drama on RHONJ
During the premiere episode of Casual Chaos, Gia described the “hard times” she experienced in those years.
“My family has also been through a lot of hard times, a lot of dark times,” she said on the March 24 episode. “But there’s also been a lot of good times and a lot of good memories that have [come] from The Real Housewives of New Jersey. But, beyond that, I’ve always had to be kind of serious on the show besides when I was an eight-year-old running around going to my auditions in New York City.”
Gia described the shift in her childhood that occurred when her parents were sentenced in 2013. It made her act more serious and take on more responsibility. And the RHONJ honorary star seemed aware of the importance of the optics on camera.
“I was a kid during my young years while being on the show, and I acted like one, but then that came to a really big halt when my family went through legal issues and we had family drama and there was just a really dark cloud over my family for a really long time,” the content creator continued. Gia might want to take a look at the current news surrounding her mom …
Gia recalled being her mother’s support system
Teresa is now happily married to Luis Ruelas. Joe moved to the Bahamas to be closer to his daughters. As for the drama between Gia and her aunt and uncle, the two families don’t speak. And the situation filming together got so toxic that RHONJ was put on hold. Gia often stepped in to defend Teresa when it came to cast drama.
“So, during that time on the show, I still am, but I’ve always been my mom’s right-hand man,” Gia shared. “No matter what, it’s her and I through it all. If she has no one, I’m right there with her. It kind of made me have a more serious attitude on the show and not be my fun, lighthearted, honestly, don’t give a f*ck self.”
