RHONY Alum Sonja Morgan’s Ex-Husband John Morgan Dead at 94

   

Banker John Adams Morgan, the ex-husband of Real Housewives of New York City alum Sonja Morgan, passed away at age 94, their daughter Quincy Morgan confirmed.

Sonja Morgan's family is mourning the loss of John Adams Morgan.

The Real Housewives of New York City alum's ex-husband died earlier this month at the age of 94, their daughter Quincy Adams Morgan announced on social media.

“As an obituary was published yesterday, I want to take the opportunity to tell you all myself that my father passed away this month,” the 24-year-old, who is the former couple's only child, shared on Instagram Stories Feb. 7. “My family is navigating this together. I very much loved and admired my dad. I am so grateful for the love and care I have been shown in these past weeks.”

Quincy added that she "took a break from work to navigate this loss."

The cause and date of John's passing has not yet been made public.

The former banker's death was also confirmed one day prior in an obituary published by The New York Times.

“The trustees, fellows, and staff of the Morgan Library & Museum mourn the passing of John Adams Morgan, a devoted trustee of the Morgan for over 34 years and longtime member of its Finance Committee,” the Feb 6 piece read. “Mr. Morgan’s close familial ties with the Morgan reached back to his great-grandfather J. Pierpont Morgan, whose remarkable collection forms the foundation of the institution.”

"John's unwavering dedication to the Morgan's mission to celebrate and share the history and process of human creativity will not be forgotten," the announcement continued. "We extend our deepest sympathies to Connie Morgan and all the members of the Morgan family."

Sonja, 61, and John, a descendent of U.S. presidents John Adams and John Quincy Adams, married in 1998 and divorced in 2006 four years before she joined RHONY in season three.

John's father, Henry Sturgis Morgan, was the cofounder of Morgan Stanley and his great-grandfather J.P. Morgan founded J.P. Morgan & Co.

In addition to his political and financial ties, John was also quite the athlete. He competed at the 1952 Olympics where he won a gold medal in the six meter class sailing race.

Sonja, as well as John's fifth wife and widow Connie, have yet to speak out publicly on his death.
