As the 39-year-old Real Housewives of Salt Lake City newbie continues to be met with claims of gold-digging and “tension” amid her marriage to the much-older Todd, 65, Bronwyn revealed if her husband had any regrets about their cast trip to Palm Springs, fired back at criticism from Meredith Marks, 52, and Heather Gay, 50, and revealed what she’s learned from her time on the show.
“I don’t think Todd regrets it. Todd’s not deeply involved in the social media of it all, and Todd is really good about what it feels like to him,” Bronwyn explained during a November 19 interview with Us Weekly.
According to Bronwyn, when Lisa Barlow, 49, was arguing with her in Palm Springs, Todd felt the need to shut it down and make sure Lisa knew she’d have to leave if she didn’t stop acting out against her.
“It felt right for him to say, ‘This conversation has to stop,’ and our marriage feels really good to him, so I don’t think Todd really cares what it looks like to anybody else, and that’s a good reminder for me that I’m very happy with Todd, and everyone else can see that or not see that and wish they were me or not wish they were me,” Bronwyn noted, adding, “[But] they should wish they were me.”
“I’m in a great marriage,” she continued. “I love my relationship. And I’m really happy. Todd and I are very different people, and together, it’s kind of a super team. We have different skill sets. We have different weaknesses, and they balance each other out, and it’s a good partnership.”
As for the “gold-digger” label she’s received from some since joining the RHOSLC cast, Bronwyn asked, “Who has not called me a gold digger yet?”
“It’s some low-hanging fruit. We’re gonna need a different insult,” she advised.
She then responded to Heather suggesting on a RHOSLC: After Show that someone can’t be smart and driven and marry for love.
“I have a great therapist Heather can talk to because I would love for Heather to have a whole second romantic life for herself,” Bronwyn offered. “I think that might speak more about Heather’s feelings about her divorce than it does about my marriage.”
Moving on to Meredith, who suspected there was “tension” in Bronywn’s marriage, Bronwyn said it felt ironic that Heather and Meredith, along with Britani Bateman, “of all people,” were talking about her and Todd’s relationship.
“We’ve got two who are not, have not been, have been divorced, have struggled, and one who had some ups and downs, so we should tend to our own grass before we worry about what Bronwyn’s grass looks like,” she stated.
While the drama between the ladies took away from the celebration of her and Todd’s anniversary in Palm Springs, Bronwyn didn’t seem too surprised.
“There was a lot of other stuff going on, and Todd is just not someone who’s gonna gravitate towards being on camera,” she pointed out.
Regarding what she’s learned from the show, Bronwyn, who tends to be anxious, said she now realizes that she can’t be “thin-skinned” or “worry about what people think.”
“I do look back, and I see a really fragile version of myself,” she shared. “I do a lot of self-deprecating humor, and I’m realizing as I watch it back that I think that’s this way of protecting something or deflecting or trying to make it easy for everyone. And I see in myself in that moment that I really just need to stand up for myself.”
