Sabres Face Big Playoff Push Without Key Players: Latest Injury Updates on Norris, Greenway, and Kozak

As the Buffalo Sabres continue their push for the playoffs, winning five of their last six games, the team might be without some crucial players for the final stretch of the regular season. With just two weeks remaining, the road to the postseason looks challenging without the return of Josh Norris, Jordan Greenway, and Tyson Kozak.

Sabres center Tyson Kozak was injured in Ottawa on Tuesday and is out week-to-week.

Coach Lindy Ruff offered insights into the injury status of the trio following Friday’s practice. Norris, who was traded from the Ottawa Senators on March 7, has only played three games for the Sabres due to a pre-trade injury. While Ruff confirmed Norris skated before practice, the expectation is that he will rejoin the lineup for the final eight games of the season.

Greenway, out since March 23 with an undisclosed lower-body injury, has yet to show significant progress, but Ruff remains hopeful he’ll return before the season ends.

Kozak’s injury is more serious, with the young forward suffering a mid-body injury in the Sabres’ win over the Senators. He’s been ruled week-to-week and is unlikely to play again in the regular season, though Ruff mentioned that Kozak may be ready for the Rochester Americans’ playoff run, as he’s eligible to join their roster.

With the clock ticking down on the Sabres’ regular season, the team’s chances of a successful playoff push hinge on the health and timely return of these key players
