The New Orleans Saints brought back a familiar face on Tuesday afternoon. Wide receiver/special teams returner Jermaine Jackson is back with the team after a short break away.
Jermaine Jackson
Jackson is signing to New Orleans' practice squad, according to the Saints.
Jackson was one of the most impressive, speedy returners in football during his college days. Once Rashid Shaheed suffered a season-ending injury, Jackson was returning most kicks for the Saints until he was waived before Week 11.
Jackson, 5-7 170, handled return duties in four games this season for New Orleans, returning seven punts for 68 yards and eight kickoffs for 187 yards. The rookie out of Idaho spent 2024 training camp with the Saints and re-joins the practice squad, where he spent Weeks Five and Six earlier this season before his call-up to the active roster. -- New Orleans Saints
With the move, the Saints placed edge rusher Trajan Jeffcoat on practice squad Injured Reserve.
We will see if Jackson becomes a special teams piece for them once again. He spent one week laying under Rizzi as HC.
Then, in Week 11, Dante Pettis was the main return guy for New Orleans. He performed well, potentially earning more opportunities going forward. The Saints are on bye in Week 12.
