Kellen Moore is expected to become the next head coach of the New Orleans Saints. No deal is negotiated or done to this point, though, and his Philadelphia Eagles squad is about to face off with the Kansas City Chiefs for the Lombardi Trophy.
How is this week a bit peculiar for both Moore and New Orleans? Well, the Super Bowl is in New Orleans.
Saints' odd situation with Kellen Moore
Moore will actually be in New Orleans' facilities in the upcoming week ahead of Eagles vs. Chiefs. His Eagles team is the designated home team for the big game, so they'll practice there.
Of course, NFL rules state that the Saints cannot contact Moore again until after the Super Bowl is over. New Orleans is not allowed to announce the official hiring of him until after the game, either.
Basically, Moore will get a mock run of how it feels to prep in the Saints' building ahead of the game that New Orleans wants to return to sometime during his potential future as their head coach.
Keep an eye out for an update regarding Moore's potential landing as the Saints' next head coach shortly after the game is over. Moore's focused on beating Kansas City, but there have been murmurs about his potential staff in New Orleans as well.
All of the signs imaginable, as of now, point to the Eagles OC becoming the next Saints head coach.
