Shannon Beador’s Feud With Host Joel Kim Booster Update

With Love Hotel premiering on Peacock, Real Housewives fans are recalling the feud between Shannon Beador and host Joel Kim Booster. Shannon is one of four iconic Real Housewives looking for love on the new Peacock series. The Real Housewives of Orange County star appears alongside RHOP’s Gizelle Bryant and Ashley Darby, as well as RHONY alum Luann De Lesseps.

However, Shannon was singled out by Joel Kim Booster, a comedian and Real Housewives fan who hosts the series. After filming wrapped, he posted some Instagram Stories indicating he wasn’t happy with one of the stars. While he didn’t name names, the mention of John Janssen made it clear who he was referring to.

Where do Joel Kim Booster and Shannon Beador stand today? Here’s the latest update on the feud as of April 2025, the month Love Hotel premiered.

After the Love Hotel wrap party, Joel posted a scathing Instagram story. The Fire Island star wrote, “Just because you’re a pathetic drunk on a reality television show best known for a string of failed relationships and a DUI does not make you a star and does not give you license to treat the people you work with like they are subhuman.”

Joel quickly indicated he was told to delete that. He added, “Don’t regret it. Hope you screenshot it. Hope she suffers.” Then wrote, “I can’t imagine what John Janssen went through. Poor guy.”

Fan account @bravohistorian shared that Joel claimed Shannon was “a TERROR for the entire three weeks,” who “humiliates the crew.” Joel also alleged Shannon was “terrible to someone he really loves” at the wrap party.

According to Luann, Joel apologized to the cast for his rant. He then posted an apology Instagram Story.

“I wish I could say that I was not the guy who posted those statements on Instagram, but the fact is that I am.” He wrote, “I let an onset conflict cloud my judgment and accessed the darkest, ugliest part of myself and said things I don’t stand by or even believe and I am deeply sorry.” Joel acknowledged Shannon’s “extraordinarily hard year” and apologized for potentially making her “road to stability more difficult.”

However, Shannon said she wasn’t sure the apology was genuine. Sharing her side of the story, Shannon claimed, “We all get tired … like, ‘Ok, I haven’t eaten, I’m exhausted, or I need to walk away,’ but it wasn’t like berating and screaming. All I can say is I didn’t do what he said. I don’t treat people subhuman.”

In an interview with Pride to promote Love Hotel, Joel emphasized how enthusiastic he was about the new Peacock dating show. “I was really excited, but really nervous,” he said about taking the hosting gig, adding, “I’ve never done reality TV before.” As for working with the four iconic Housewives, Joel said, “These women raised me! It was like flying directly into the surface of the sun. It was really fun!”

Pride noted that Joel and Shannon got along while filming Love Hotel. So, if the claim that Shannon was rude to someone Joel cares about at the wrap party is true, that must’ve been the last straw. However, Joel chose not to speak too much about his rant in the interview.

“Neither Shannon nor I are interested in relitigating this again,” the Loot star said. He added, “I’m going to be a distant memory for Shannon Beador. I’m a small fish for Shannon Beador. We’ll be able to coexist. It hasn’t dimmed my enjoyment of watching the show, so I hope it doesn’t for anybody else either.”

Has Shannon Beador spoken to Love Hotel host Joel Kim Booster since their feud?

Shannon promoted Love Hotel in an interview with Entertainment Tonight’s Brice Sander. Shannon said she decided to sign up after her hard year, with both her DUI and her nasty breakup with John. She didn’t date at all for that year, choosing to work on herself instead. So, she felt like it was the perfect time. In fact, she was filming Love Hotel on the one-year anniversary of her DUI. She did admit that there were some emotional moments throughout filming. Ultimately, she shared that she did “walk away from the show with someone.”

Throughout the interview, she emphasized how much fun Love Hotel was to film. She saw Joel’s Instagram story while she was in the airport to leave after filming wrapped.

“It did hurt me tremendously,” Shannon said. “He did apologize, and that’s that,” she added. But when asked if she accepted the apology, Shannon said, “I didn’t respond.” She added that she hasn’t spoken to him since.

So, it’s safe to say things are still frosty between Joel and Shannon today. That being said, Shannon also stated she would film the show again. Guess that guy she walked away with didn’t work out…
