In an This Morning exclusive interview with Jeff Brazier ahead of Father's Day, Simon Cowell has shared an insight into his relationship with son Eric, and what fatherhood has meant to him

Simon Cowell has confessed he's "very worried" as he delved into his relationship with his son Eric in a candid conversation.
In anticipation of Father's Day, the Britain's Got Talent judge engaged in an intimate chat with Jeff Brazier about fatherhood on Thursday's (June 12) edition of This Morning.
Simon and his partner Lauren Silverman celebrated the arrival of their son Eric back in February 2014.
In the pre-recorded segment, the entertainment impresario opened up about the significance of fatherhood and how it has positively transformed his life.
"Honestly, [it means] everything. Out of everything I've ever done in my life, this is the best thing to ever happen to me. The very first time I saw his scan, I was literally obsessed," Simon disclosed, reports Belfast Live.
He continued: "It kind of gives you a purpose I think. I enjoyed my life, I enjoyed my work. I was getting to a point where I was getting bored. Once you become a parent, then it's like everything is for them. I actually really, really enjoy his company.

"So like, every night we read together before he goes to bed. I can wind him up if I want to because he's so easy, like Lauren, to wind up.
"I just make stupid stuff up and he's like, 'That's not real' and it's like, 'No, it really is real' and he kind of half knows but he's still wound up but he's got a good sense of humour. He's a good kid."
Addressing the complexities of parenting, Simon remarked: "We're getting to a point where the word phone comes up, 'Oh god, here we go.'".
Simon expressed his concern about the amount of information children are exposed to at a young age, saying: "I'm very worried Jeff, about how much kids can see at a certain age. I grew up... which was learning things at the right time, the right age, etcetera etcetera. I just would be petrified of him having access to anything, that would really worry me."

He then discussed the pressures of modern schooling, stating: "I think schools put too much pressure on kids, which is, you're getting up at seven in the morning, you're coming home say at five, six in the afternoon, evening and then you've got to do two hours of homework.
"It's like, they're ten, eleven, twelve years old. It's too much. I would say to any teacher watching, ban homework, you'll have happier kids and they'll do better."
Reflecting on his own childhood, Simon shared fond memories and the values his parents instilled in him. He said: "My mum used to say, manners maketh the man and my dad was very good about respecting other people and I'm trying to do the same thing with him
"Which is, don't make it over complicated you know, find your path, be happy, be respectful to other people."
As he looked to the future, Simon expressed his hopes for his son Eric's childhood, saying he wanted him to look back on his time with his parents with fondness.
The Britain's Got Talent judge's greatest wish is for his 11 year old son to cherish the memories of his childhood, describing it as "the best thing" that brought him immense happiness.
