Southern Charm Star Offers Up Rare Relationship Update

Beloved “Southern Charm” alum Cameran Eubanks recently gave fans a peek into her life away from Bravo’s spotlight. Via an Instagram story, she shared a heartfelt milestone with her husband, Jason Wiimberly, marking their 11th wedding anniversary on April 12th. It was a reminder that their low-key love story endures off the reality TV grid.

The ‘Southern Charm’ Star Met Her Husband on a Blind Date

Former Southern Charm star Cameran Eubanks shared a wedding photo on IG to celebrate 11 years of marriageCameran Eubanks/Instagram

Eubanks posted a black-and-white photo from their 2014 wedding that captured her and Wimberly strolling hand-in-hand while lost in each other’s eyes.

“11 years,” she captioned the snap, keeping it short and sweet.

The rustic ceremony, held after “Southern Charm’s” debut season, was a Charleston fairy tale before Eubanks became a Bravo staple. Their love story started with a blind date in 2011. By date number two at a Prince concert, sparks flew.

“It was on that date that I knew I was going to marry this man,” Eubanks wrote in her 2021 memoir “One Day You’ll Thank Me.”

So what sealed the deal for Eubanks? She says it was Wemberley’s sense of humor.

“He let his guard down a bit, and I got to see his humorous side. The chemistry started kicking in. Now I really wanted to go on a third date. And, well, the rest is history.”

Why Cameran Eubanks’ Husband Stayed Off-Screen

“Southern Charm” fans never saw Wimberly during her six seasons on the Bravo series, and that was by design. During a 2017 interview with “The Daily Dish,” Eubanks explained his absence.

“He has zero desire to be on TV. I always joke that he is just a normal person and most normal people don’t want to be in the spotlight,” she said.

“Does this mean I am calling myself crazy? Absolutely. We all have a bit of an ego. Jason doesn’t have one, which is part of the reason I love him so much. He’s the yin to my yang.”

Wimberly, a Charleston anesthesiologist, preferred privacy. But he had no problem letting Eubanks shine while he cheered from the sidelines. He wasn’t a stranger to her world, either. Off camera, Wimberly hung out with a few of Eubanks’ “Southern Charm” castmates, like Patricia Altschul and Shep Rose.

Family Life and Future Plans for the ‘Southern Charm’ Star

Wimberly was completely supportive of Eubanks’ filming “Southern Charm” and was also a “huge fan” of the show. So, there was always a balance in their relationship between her public life and their private one.

Eubanks left “Southern Charm” in 2020. But before her exit, she said that she compartmentalized her reality TV life and refused to let it interfere with her marriage. Which was part of the reason her husband stayed off-camera.

Wimberly and Eubanks welcomed their daughter Palmer in 2017, which was a joy that she says is unmatched. However, the couple has no plans for more children. She has been very clear for years that they want to keep their family small.

In 2018, she told BravoTV.com that they had a “very serious baby talk” on their anniversary that year, weighing out the pros and cons. Ultimately, she decided she wouldn’t have any more children.

Since her departure from “Southern Charm,” Eubanks has focused on her marriage, her daughter, and new projects.

“Southern Charm” is available to stream on Peacock.
