Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Receives An Exciting Update Ahead Of It's Season 3 Premiere

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 3 is yet to premiere nearly two years after the Season 2 finale and a fourth season is currently in production. However, a major update has been revealed about the future of the series. It looks like Captain Christopher Pike and his crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise will be getting a fifth season. Per Trek Central, a listing in the Writers Guild of America West states that Strange New Worlds Season 5 is in the works. The news comes as Season 4 was confirmed and began filming in early 2025. However, it remains to be seen whether the fifth season will close out the series, like Star Trek: Discovery and Star Trek: Lower Decks, which both ended after five seasons on Paramount+.

Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, and Star Trek: Voyager all ran for seven seasons. The odd ones out were Star Trek: Enterprise, which ended abruptly after four seasons, and the animated Star Trek: Prodigy, which seemingly has been canceled after two seasons. The 1970s' Star Trek: The Animated Series also ran for two seasons from 1973 to 1975.

However, Paramount has not officially confirmed a fifth season for Star Trek: Strange New Worldswhich stars Anson Mount, Rebecca Romijn, Ethan Peck, Christina Chong, Melissa Navia, Jess Bush, Celia Rose Gooding, Babs Olusanmokun, Carol Kane, Martin Quinn, and Melanie Scrofano.
