Stassi, now a 36-year-old mother of two, began the show when she was 23 and in a relationship with Jax Taylor. She and Jax later broke up when she found out he was cheating, though Stassi continued to film with the friend group.

On Stassi’s podcast, the star recalled a moment when she refused to film at an after-party scene with her co-stars.

“First of all, I’m not like a f**king wet blanket where I’m like, I don’t like to party,” she said, via @vanderpodrecaps on Instagram. “I like a certain type of party. I like to have a good time. I just can’t do it hard. I can’t do it daytime and nighttime and into the morning. It’s not me. I don’t enjoy myself. I’m panicking and counting down the hours of, like, how many hours am I going to get to sleep?”

Stassi claimed she felt this way “even before kids.”

“This isn’t new,” she explained. “[There’s an] impression of me that ever since I’ve had kids, I just can’t hang, all of a sudden. I’m just introverted or whatever. [I’ve] always been this way. If you look back on any season of Vanderpump Rules, you will catch little moments where I leave first. I leave the night first.”

“I remember this argument I got into with producers. It was when we went to Mexico one of the times,” she said. “We were partying and filming all day long, then had dinner, then went to a club, then we came back, and we were scheduled to have an after-party in one of the suites or one of the rooms. Once I got back from the club, I was like, ‘I’m going to be real with you here. I’m not going.’ They’re like, ‘This is your job. You have to.’”

But Stassi pushed back.

“I was like, ‘No … This is a reality show. If we’re going to show what actual reality would be, if the cameras weren’t here, I would be tapping out and going to my room and ordering room service and getting cozy. Let’s show what’s real. Let’s show what’s real,’” she recalled. “They were annoyed because they’re like, ‘This isn’t going to make it [in the edit]. No, you need to be in there where the drama is.’ You know what made it to air? That scene, me going, ordering room service, extra f**king ranch.”

“Then [it showed] somebody coming in and telling me what happened,” Stassi added. “That’s what’s real because I would never actually be at the f**king after-party.”
