Gorka Marquez took to Instagram to share a heartfelt family update with his two children. The Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer is engaged to Gemma Atkinson.
The couple met on the hit BBC dancing show in 2017 and got engaged in 2021. They share two children, daughter Mia, six, and son Thiago, two.
Gemma and Gorka regularly share insights into their life away from the spotlight on social media. Gorka recently shared a snap of Mia and Thiago, as Mia was ready for her last day of the school year. He wrote: "Last day of School! Year 1 completed."
He shared three snaps of his children posing for the camera, including one photograph of Thiago admiring his older sister. Gorka joked: "Caption Thiago's thought in pic 3" with a laughing face emoji.
Strictly Come Dancing professionals Vito Coppola and Karen Hauer added red love heart emojis. Fans also flooded to the comments to show their support for the family.
One follower said: "Beautiful children xx growing up way too fast xx." A second wrote: "Lovely pictures beautiful children" and a third added: "Lovely children! Where is the time going a credit to you and Gemma."
However, it appeared that some followers were questioning Mia's clothing on her last day of school, as she posed in a jumper, shorts and trainers instead of a uniform.
Gorka took to his Instagram story as he felt he needed to explain himself. He wrote: "For the police mum/dads this pic was yesterday she had none uniform day."
Mia celebrated her sixth birthday earlier this month and Gorka shared a carousel of snaps to mark the occasion. He posted a snap of his two little ones blowing out the candles on Mia's birthday cake. A photograph of their family dog Benji was also added into the mix.
Gemma also shared a post dedicated to Mia's birthday, alongside a video which included snaps from the day she was born six years ago.
Gemma wrote: "6 today! It’s true that when you become a parent the days are long but the years are short. I feel like I’ve blinked and here you are. A kind, empathetic, funny, caring, beautiful little lady, and we couldn’t be any more proud of you.
The most wonderful big sister to Tio and Benji and you keep me, papa and the rest of our family entertained daily without even knowing it. My birthday wish for you is health & happiness.
"And that you always keep being authentically you. Keep speaking your mind and keep asking those questions and if ever in doubt, mum and papa will sort it. We’ll sort anything for you. Mia Louise Marquez. Our little force of nature. We love you."
The two children both have July birthdays as Thiago turned two last week. Gorka shared a post on Instagram as he wrote: "Happy 2nd Birthday Thiago aka my little man.
"Watching you grow is my favourite thing in the world. Making us all laugh, dancing around (get it from me) and always eating (that's Gemma) LOL Feliz cumpleaños Thiago we love you."
