More than four months after confirming their separation, the estranged couple came together to support their 10-year-old son, Cruz Arroyave. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum shared the moment in a March 16 Instagram video filmed at Mosiac Calabasas church.
“My baby boy wanted to be baptized tonight,” she captioned the clip. “He said his relationship with god has really helped his anxiety.”
The Story began with Cruz stepping into a baptismal font as his family and the congregation watched on.
Edwin also posted a pre-baptism video in which he asked Cruz why he wanted to get baptized.
“Because Jesus is lord and I’m all in,” the boy said with a smile.
“All right, let’s do it,” his dad replied. “He’s ready… How long have you been wanting to do this? He’s been asking and asking and today we’re finally doing it. He’s getting baptized.”
Shortly after the religious rite, Teddi posted a family photo of her, Edwin, Cruz, and her two daughters, Slate and Dove Arroyave. (Teddi is also a stepmom to Edwin’s teenage daughter, Bella, who was not in attendance.)
“Cruz baptism night,” she captioned the snap. “Love you buddy.”
The milestone came about a month after Teddi underwent brain surgery to remove multiple tumors. The RHOBH alum has been quite open about her various health struggles stemming from a years-long melanoma battle. She recently admitted the process has led to some of her “darkest, saddest days.”
Although the experience hasn't been easy, Teddi refused to let her health issues take over her life. On March 8, the Indiana native revealed she had received the green light to resume horseback riding — something she never thought she would do again. Teddi reflected on the experience in a March 16 Instagram post celebrating Slate’s latest equestrian win.
“Two exciting things happened: I got to bond with my girl [Slate] and watch her become the circuit champion on Catniss in the 3’6” 15-and-under Junior Hunters,” she wrote. “And I got to get on my [horse], Toad… something I was worried I would never be able to do again.”
She continued: “When you’re battling cancer or any sickness, mental health is just as important as physical. To get to ride again, with Slate by my side, is the best supplement to the medical treatments that I am confident will wipe out these tumors. And y’all know nothing will crush my competitive spirit so I gotta say… I got so much life and am so proud that I was able to ride my best boy to become champ in the 3’6” WCHR week.”
