Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Teddi Mellencamp is sharing why she has been feeling a sense of peace amid her battle with stage 4 cancer.
On April 28, Mellencamp took to her Instagram account to share a picture of the scars on her head from her February 2025 emergency surgery to remove tumors from her brain.
In the caption of the post, she noted that doctors discovered the tumors in her brain “76 days” ago. She later found out she also has tumors in her lungs. Mellencamp also referenced that she was diagnosed with melanoma in 2022.
“Melanoma had metastasized there and been there for ‘6 months to a year’ and we had no clue,” wrote Mellencamp.
She also wrote that “Since that day, [she has] had multiple surgeries, had rage from the steroids, felt very sick, laughed a ton, ridden horses, loved on [her] kids and felt great.” In addition, Mellencamp said she initially felt emotional when she looked at the photo of her surgery scars. However, she was soon flooded with a sense of peace.
“When I first looked at this picture, at the scars on my head and my arm, I cried. Then, I felt a warmness rush through my body and felt so much peace. Peace from the incredible support system I have in my family and friends. Peace from the outpouring of love from y’all on here. Peace in knowing my story could help somebody save their life,” continued Mellencamp.
Mellencamp concluded her caption with a message for her Instagram followers.
“Sending love to anyone struggling and reminding you if something isn’t feeling right to go get checked. Advocate for yourself. We have got this. 💕,” wrote Mellencamp.
Mellencamp made similar comments in an April 28 Instagram Story.
“Seeing my scars on the back of my head make me cry but has reminded me if all the things we can overcome. Very grateful to this fighter body of mine,” wrote Mellencamp in the Story.

Teddi Mellencamp Spoke About Her Relationship With Her Estranged Husband
While speaking to Entertainment Tonight in April 2025, Mellencamp discussed her relationship with her estranged husband, Edwin Arroyave, the father of her children, Cruz, Slate, and Dove. Mellencamp is also the stepmother to Arroyave’s eldest child, Isabella.
Mellencamp said that Arroyave has been a source of support. She said, however, that they are still intending to divorce. She also said that she has had to remind him that she has felt “debilitating pain” when thinking about her children while having a stage 4 cancer diagnosis.
“That is extremely frightening. Like my kids are young,” said Mellencamp to the publication.
