Teddi Mellencamp ‘fights’ another cancer diagnosis – ‘Grins and fakes it’ for kids

Former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave reveals she’s “fighting” once again as she’s dealt another blow when it comes to her health this summer. In late July, she took to social media to explain to fans she has to “grin and fake it” for her children as she received another cancer diagnosis at 43 years old.

Teddi rose to fame as a Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star in 2017. She spent three seasons on the show and is now a popular Bravo star. Outside of her reality TV fame, Teddi is a wife and mom of four. She and her husband have been married since 2011 and their four children range from pre-school to freshman age. Teddi explains via Instagram how her second cancer diagnosis takes its toll on her as she tries to hold it together for her family.

Teddi Mellencamp’s cancer battle

RHOBH alum Teddi was first diagnosed with melanoma two years ago.

Speaking of the moment she had concerns over cancer, she exclusively told Extra how while running with Kyle Richards, her co-star noticed a dark spot on her back. Kyle said one of the spots on Teddi’s back was “black.”

After getting it checked, her results came back as a melanoma diagnosis.

Now, the mom of three explains how she’s battling cancer again.

Taking to Instagram this July, she says a “recent skin check” reveals another melanoma.

Teddi writes: “I do in fact have another melanoma which means another surgery.”

Teddi has been ‘trying to grin and fake it’

Taking to social media, Bravo star Teddi urges her followers to stay up to date with their skin checks.

Speaking of her own cancer battle, she pens:

“I got the results back at the beginning of this week and have been just trying to grin and fake it since the call because I was at an important horse show with Slate…”

However challenging times may be for the Bravo star, she remains a fighter, adding: “I know I will be ok in the end – we caught this one within 90 days and earlier stages and for that I am very grateful. I am grateful to the incredible physicians, nurses, my family, horses, friends, and work but am also trying to be gentle with myself and say it’s ok to have feelings and be afraid.

“It’s ok to want to watch 55 episodes of Love Island to escape and it’s ok that I am up to 677 unread emails. Tomorrow will be better and if it’s not I will keep fighting until it is.”
