TEEN Mom star Mackenzie McKee is 'crushed' to reveal a heartbreaking update about her newborns.
Earlier in June, the former reality TV star gave birth to twins with her fiancé Khesanio Hall.
The duo, both 30, announced the big news on Instagram following just 31 weeks of pregnancy.
The MTV star welcomed daughters Ja’Kharie Angie and Ja’Meikah Angella Hall on Monday, June 2.
Ja'Kharie was the first twin to arrive at 7:08 p.m. EST, and she weighed exactly five pounds.
Her sister, Ja'Meikah, was just a few minutes behind her and arrived at 7:11 p.m. EST, weighing 5 pounds and two ounces.
Due to their premature birth, the twins were rushed to the NICU to help them grow.
Mackenzie took to her Facebook profile to give an update on her twins as she revealed both some good news and more heartbreaking news.
The reality star posted a snap of one of her adorable twins looking healthy in a baby carrier.
However, she revealed that her other child has to remain at the hospital for the time being.
She wrote: "What do you mean your sending me home without my sister? This is the hardest part of the twin NICU life.
"My heart is so happy to have my baby home with me, and so crushed that my other baby is being left at the hospital."
She added: "They went from being in my belly together, to separate crib across the room, now completely apart.
"But one day very soon they will be side by side once again."
As a type 1 diabetic, Mackenzie struggled through the high-risk pregnancy.
During the last week of May, she gained 20 pounds of water weight in just two days.
