The Feeling Around The Rangers Locker Room Is Beginning To Shift
The overall mood in the Rangers locker room is starting to change as the team continues to play a better brand of hockey.
Things are starting to shift for the New York Rangers both on the ice and in the locker room.
Through December, the Rangers were imploding as a team with their on-ice struggles impacting the dynamic internally.
However, since the start of the new year, the Rangers are 4-1-1 and are beginning to creep back into the playoff picture.
Urho Vaakanainen feels that this recent success is translating into the team’s camaraderie.
“The feeling in the locker room is way better,” Vaakanainen said via Peter Baugh of The Athletic. “Obviously before Christmas we played like s–t. We didn’t play well at all. Mood wasn’t that great. … It’s really picking up right now. We’re playing really well.”
The mood around the Blueshirts has certainly felt lighter. All of the outside noise and trade rumors have simmered down since the Rangers are just exponentially better.
There are still months of hockey to be played while it’s hard to imagine the Rangers making some sort of deep playoff push, but there is finally hope in New York and that’s all anybody could ask for.
