The LSHL Starts on Monday

Every offseason, the players who live in Montreal during the offseason compete in the Living Sisu Hockey League. It's a special league where the format of play is different, it's fast and furious three on three hockey.

It's definitely not great for the goaltenders, but it is for the forwards. A couple of years ago, Nick Suzuki captained a team and when Juraj Slafkovsky arrived in Montreal, he had him play with his team for a few games, giving the fans a preview of what was to come.

This time around there will be three returning captain in Pierre-Olivier Joseph will be the captain of Team Accent Assurances. Louis Domingue, a goaltender in the New York organization will captain the Poulet Rouge. Laurent Dauphin will be the captain of Team Live Bard. As for Raphael Harvey-Pinard he has played in the League before but this will be his first time acting as the captain of a Team MTL Balance Board. The players forming the teams are unknow at this stage and it's likely the draft hasn't been done yet. The captains take turns picking participating players to fill up their rosters. When the draft is done though, the different rosters will be put on the LSHL website.

Montreal Canadiens forward Rafael Harvey-Pinard prepares for a face off against the Edmonton Oilers during the second period at the Bell Centre.

The women's tournament starts on Monday and the men's on Tuesday. If you need a hockey fix, I advise you to head over to Hockey Etcetera this upcoming Monday, You'll get 2 games of excellent Women's hockey or on Tuesday to watch NHL stars keeping sharp in reediness for the upcoming season. There might be a small fee to enter,  but that shouldn't act as a deterrent as it will be worth it.
