‘The Pitt’ Star, 49, Praises His “Joyful” Time on ‘Chicago P.D.’ Season 12

Voight's decision to orchestrate Reid's murder ultimately has him coloring outside the lines far more than he normally would. His decision is questioned by the sergeant's love interest, Nina Chapman (Sara Bues), and while Reid might be gone, his impact will most likely linger for a while. While speaking with Deadline, Hatosy looked back on playing the deputy police chief and working alongside Beghe. “It was just nice to be there alongside [Jason Beghe], trying to annoy him, because he’s got this unmoving face,” he teased with a laugh. “No, we had a lot of fun. I was really excited to share scenes with him, and seeing how somebody who’s been playing a character for that long is still excited about the process, working hard, and figuring out how to make it real. It was a joy,” he concluded.

Deputy Chief Charlie Reid Might Continue to Influence 'Chicago P.D.' In Season 13

Chicago P.D. has been renewed for Season 13 and is expected to premiere this fall in the 2025-2026 TV season. It's still too early to know exactly how things might play out, but in a surprising off-season update, it has been announced that Toya Turner, who played the newest recruit Kiana Cook, would be departing the show. While he might not be returning for Season 13 of the police procedural drama, Hatosy will be back on television soon. The actor will return for Season 2 of the HBO Max medical drama, The Pitt, which is currently in production. Hatosy plays Dr. Jack Abbot on the show which is poised for a January 2026 return.
