The Steelers made a call for Kyle Pitts.
Originally the Steelers were interested in trading for Kirk Cousins but after signing Aaron Rodgers, their attention has turned to Pitts. He is currently sitting out of OTA's due to a strained muscle in his foot and there is currently no timetable for his return.
According to Bleacher Report and multiple other sources, the Steelers have been eyeing tight ends to complement Pat Freiermuth and Pitts is on top of that list. A trade to the Steelers would have him playing under Arthur Smith once again.
According to Adam Schefter, there is belief that the Falcons do not want to trade Pitts, unless there is at least a third-round pick at play. He does not believe that any team will offer enough for the Falcons liking though.
Pitts was taken fourth overall in 2021, making him the highest drafted tight end in NFL history. He had a pro-bowl level season as a rookie, but ever since that season he has struggled to put it all together and currently has 10 touchdowns in four seasons.
The Falcons have taken multiple calls from teams for Pitts, but the Steelers stand out because of the recent Rodgers signing. Cousins' trade market is as dry as it has been in months, but the one for Pitts keeps improving as time goes on.
It is all up to how much the Falcons want for Pitts, but at the moment he will stick around and heal that foot injury. There seems to be different opinions about a match between Pitts and Pittsburgh, but as of now there is nothing more than a call.
