The end is near for The Walking Dead: Dead City season 2, and the newly released trailer for episode 8 hints at an explosive, bloody, and emotionally charged finale. Titled “If History Were a Conflagration,” the upcoming episode sees Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) preparing for war — but not on the same side.
A Fractured Alliance and a War-Torn Manhattan
Season 2, episode 7 shocked fans when it revealed that the Dama (Lisa Emery) is still alive. After knocking Maggie unconscious, the Dama appears poised to manipulate events from behind the scenes once again. Meanwhile, Negan has fortified a church with the help of the Burazi, protecting Ginny (Mahina Napoleon) with a disturbingly familiar ruthless edge. He’s ready to kill anyone who comes near.
The new trailer shows Maggie waking up and confronting the Dama, who hints at a larger plan involving Hershel (Logan Kim). The Dama’s return adds a dangerous wildcard to the equation, especially as Maggie ends up inside the church just as Bruegel (Kim Coates) and Perlie (Gaius Charles) launch a violent assault. The trailer promises pure chaos: Maggie slashing throats, Bruegel wielding a flamethrower, and Negan once again embracing his brutal past.
In a chilling final scene, Maggie picks up a bloodied Lucille — the barbed-wire bat once used by Negan in his reign of terror. The look in her eyes suggests vengeance, but who will be on the receiving end?
