The emergence of Filip Chytil will be critical for the New York Rangers this upcoming season.

Despite dealing with injuries for the vast majority of his NHL career, Rangers general manager Chris Drury announced that Chytil is a full go for training camp and nothing is holding him back.

While Chytil has shown flashes of his potential, injuries and specifically concussion problems have been an issue for him.

Through his short hockey career, Chytil has already suffered at least four concussions as he’s missed a substantial amount of time over the last few years.

The latest concussion came last November, which kept him out for the remainder of the regular season and most of the playoffs.

Even when he did ultimately return for the playoffs, the Rangers were cautious with Chytil’s usage, limiting the amount of games he played and his ice time.

Now though, it seems the 25-year-old is ready to take on a full workload for the Rangers again and he’ll certainly make an impact if he can stay healthy.

Chytil will likely play on the third line alongside Will Cuylle and Kaapo Kakko while also playing shorthanded minutes and maybe even serve a role on the power play.

This is why Chytil could be an X-factor for the Rangers and a player that will be a lot more important than many people may actually think.
