Drew is a completely different person and there may be a reason.
New Drew is nothing like Old Drew on General Hospital. He made a complete turnaround and went from a nice guy to an evil villain in a short time. Is there a reason behind the switch?
That Darn Mind Control
Let’s not forget that Drew (Cameron Mathison) was once under a Cassadine spell. That evil family loves a good mind control trick. Victor (Charles Shaughnessy) was using tarot cards to activate Drew’s programming not too long ago. He overcame it with a little help from his now-hated brother, Jason (Steve Burton).
New Cassadines pop up all the time. Old ones come back from the dead. There may be a family member lurking in the shadows who reactivated whatever hold they had over Drew for many crazy reasons. Wouldn’t it be extra delicious if it was Helena (Constance Towers)?
Brain Tricks
Drew took the blame for Carly’s (Laura Wright) insider trading and went to prison for her. That was a nice guy thing to do. He came out of prison, broke up with her, and hasn’t been the same since. Something may have changed while he was in Pentonville.
Drew was beaten badly during his prison term, so he may have a brain injury from being hit in the head. This may have altered his personality. This could easily explain the quick change almost as soon as he came home.
Alternatively, it could be a brain tumor, but they already did that with Franco (ex-Roger Howarth).
Cult Leader
Many fans believe the theory that Drew is really cult leader Shiloh (ex-Coby Ryan McLaughlin). This would explain his obsession with Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) and his hatred for Jason (Steve Burton). Shiloh may have returned to get even with everyone in Port Charles who wronged him.Willow may have identified his body after he was killed, but stranger things have happened. The real Drew might be held in a bunker somewhere while Shiloh is parading around pretending to be him. If this is the case, she will be very sorry she cheated on Michael with her former cult leader.
